The trio of producer Tony Galvin and emcees JL and Mental Growth aka Basic Vocab are bringing back that smooth laid back sound that groups like Tribe, De la Soul and The Roots pioneered. With their debut release, "General Dynamic" (Droppin May 23rd) Basic Vocab is making noise in the Miami hip hop scene that has so long been dominated by crunk and booty music. With true musicianship and intelligent wordplay these catz are going to set a new standard in hip hop music on the independent level.
