Bone Thugs N Harmony
R.I.P. Eazy E

Bone Thugs N Harmony:
The Interview

When Bone Thugs first came on the scene they basically put the Mid West on the map with a new style and a new face in hip hop…Guided by the legendary Eazy E Bone Thugs went on to sell 20 million records, make hit singles, win Grammy’s and American Music Awards and live out the American hip hop dream. Over the years since Eazy’s passing the group had many trial and tribulations but always seemed to pull it off even when it seemed like their career was over. Now fresh off a gold album produced by Swizz Beatz and a hit single “I Tried” Bone Thugs is back and they are here to stay, S1 recently caught up with the crew on their promotional tour and this is what they had to say:

S1: Yeah, yeah, yeah what going on my peoples!! You know who this is, this is the mother fucking man S1 Legacy Radio, Legacy Magazine, Legacymag.net and today I got none other then one of the most highly anticipated groups ever Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony…What’s up big dawgs how ya’ll feeling today baby?

BTH: Wassup baby what’s happening with it…

S1: Alright, alright chillin, now just to clarify I got Crazy Bone, lazy Bone and Wish Bone correct?

BTH: Yeah, yeah…

S1: So how you guys feeling? You guys had a very stellar year last year, you know you got together with Swiss Beats, you won an American Music Award for best rap group, “Strength and Loyalty” went gold…Talk to us man alot of big things, what’s good with ya’ll?

Lazy: Man, man we doing real good out here on the road right now doing our promotion and doing our Rolling Stone thing, we the Rolling Stones of hip hop so we always on the road…

Crazy: Like you said last year was like a real good year for us you know, we collabed with Swiss Beats through Interscope and we put together the album and won an American Music Award and big happening in the process right now as we speak…

S1: Alright there are definitely some things that I want to touch on like the Thugs album. But we got the call that you guys granted us the interview on the anniversary of Eazy’s passing…Obviously for the people that don’t know Eazy was a very major part in how Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony got into the game…Any words, you know what time it is, any words?

Lazy: Basically rest in peace we love him to death not just us but a lot of artists that wouldn’t be as vocal and speaking they mind if it wasn’t for Eazy E and NWA opening the doors, you know freedom of speech as far as the hood goes…

S1: Alright, alright…

Crazy: That definitely played a major part in our careers and our people’s careers…

S1: Not to harp on it too much but for the individuals that may be in a fog and not know what exactly transpired this is one of those legendary stories, you guys sent out a mixtape, I believe he heard it, you guys hopped on a bus, you went out there crazy style no place to stay, basically no loot and you guys got up to bat and you hit a home run something along those lines correct?

Lazy: Yeap, yeap pretty close…

Crazy: What basically happened was we took one way tickets to California, we actually rapped for Eazy E over the phone and he was like really digging it when he heard it and then we found out he had a show, he was doing a concert in Cleveland so we set up some way to get back to Cleveland and that’s where we actually met him at and then he paid for us to come back to L.A. and it was on!

S1: Alright that’s definitely wassup…That some piece of history but again you guys are creating your own history right now so…The recent album “Strength and Loyalty” went gold, you guys got an American Music Award for best rap group, the single “I Tried” definitely was banging…What else is going on with Bone-Thugs? What can we anticipated?

Lazy: Basically you know, we got our movie “I Tried” out too named after the single about our life, about what if we didn’t make it in the rap what our lives might have been like, you know what I’m sayin, it’s got some truth to it and fiction and the movie is doing real good and real entertaining, so if you got that go pick it up…

Crazy: We also just finish shooting a video for Ruthless Records for the “Thugs” album…We shot a video for Young Thugs so that should be coming out real soon and it’s off the hook…

S1: So then you guys are doing a collab with Ruthless then…You guys are doing some work with them?

Crazy: Yeah we got together with Ruthless and shot the video for Young Thugs and it came out pretty good, we put all the bullshit aside and did business, you know…

S1: No doubt that’s definitely wassup…Now check it you guys are definitely legends, you know what I’m saying, you guys came in with your own style, you did it your own way…Any words of advice just for the simple fact of longevity?

Lazy: I mean basically you got to stay true to what you do, keep God first and when you speak make sure you speaking from the heart and something that real relevant to what other people can relate to…

Crazy: Yeah cause it’s a lot of people that come out and have hits but they come and then they go…Club and dance music is all good but everybody struggles and that’s what we make, we make struggle music…We make music that people gonna feel regardless after they come home from the club, it’s music that’s gonna make people think about surviving day to day…

S1: Alright that’s definitely wassup…I got one more thing that I wanted to bring up now that we are talking about legends…Now on Biggie’s last album ya’ll did a collabo with him and I thought that track in itself was fucking insane, Biggie was a talented individual but on that particular track Biggie sounded like he was part of the group, like he’d been doing that with you for awhile…Just tell us about that experience, that bit of work that you got to do with that legend

Crazy: Aw man it was crazy because we went into that whole west coast east coast beef neutral, you know what I’m sayin…We had just did the song with Pac and P Diddy came to us and he was like Big wants to do a song with ya’ll and with us being neutral we was like yeah come on lets do it…So we went in the studio and we heard the track and we knocked our verses out and Big was sittin in the studio and said that shit was crazy how ya’ll put that down so quick and then we left and Big hadn’t done his verse yet but then when we heard his verse we was like damn that nigga came with it because he was like wow this is going to be hard for me to do this but then when we heard it this nigga fit right in with the program, so it was a real blessing to get to work with him and just to have that experience and just to collab with him before he died…

S1: That’s definitely wassup…Again any last words of advice in general you know whether it be to producers and DJ’s and to young rappers?

Lazy: Some real advice is, you know what I’m sayin, the game ain’t like it used to be, you know what I’m sayin, the game is changing and it’s like for real from me the game ain’t for everybody you know what I’m sayin, you always got to keep other avenues open because everybody is not going to make it, everybody is not going to get a hit single, or a hit album or a hit beat on somebody’s album…Stay grounded and always have different avenues cause you never know…

S1: Alright that’s definitely wassup, that’s real talk with Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony Legacy you know how we get down…Yo boys just keep doing what ya’ll are doing represent, you know what I’m sayin, and you guys represent hip hop well baby aiight…One..

Crazy: One…

Lazy: One…
