Chris Styles getz nominated for a Grammy by lacing 50 Cent wit "Disco Inferno"

Chris Styles: Grammy Bound

Hailing from the mean streets of Brooklyn, Chris Styles is poised to win his first Grammy for producing the smash hit by 50 Cent “Disco Inferno”. He has worked with other big name artists like Christina Aguilera, Mase and Fabolous to mention a few. He also is a savy businessman and established is own production company called Dangerous LLC that has a state of the art studio in mid-town Manhattan. S1 recently caught up with the super producer and this is what he had to say:

S1: Yeah, yeah, yeah…What’s going on my peoples!!! You know who this is, this the mutha fuckin man S1….Legacy Magazine, Legacy Radio!!! And today man I got an interesting individual here with us by the name of Chris Styles…A lot of ya’ll niggas know who he is and if you don’t know you gonna know real soon cause my nigga may just bring home a Grammy, nominated for “Disco Inferno” with 50 cent…What’s poppin my nigga?

Chris Styles: I’m good man…Man I’m just happy to be doing this…I can’t even explain the feeling…

S1: Alright lets just take it back for a quick minute…How long you been in the game? Where did you start? Cause a lot of people may want to know how you got from point A to point B, you feel me?

CS: Yeah…Basically what happened was I was a rapper first…Know what I’m saying…I was rappin for a couple of years…Kinda put out a couple of units you know…Put out a couple of videos…Sold 30,000 independently on my own and I kinda just switched up…Know what I’m saying…I realized I was given a lot of tips to the producers or the beat makers you wanna call them that was doing my music at the time and not knowing that I was producing…I was guiding the record, I knew how I wanted the record to sound and somebody told me you know you producing records I thought I was just making the beat…Niggas like na man when you go in there and you guide that record, you put your 2 cents in it, you kinda dictating how the record gonna go that when your producing a records…That’s when your making a hit…And I kinda just said wow I ain’t know that so I kinda switched over and started doing the production thing…

S1: So when did you start producing yo?

CS: Well I’ve been doing it ever since I’ve been rappin but officially when I got paid, the first time I got some paper was about 3 years ago…

S1: Alright, alright so you been in the game producing so to speak on a professional level for the past 3 years…Obviously it didn’t take too long to get your rocks off with “Disco Inferno”. How did that whole little thing come about? You know getting together with 50 and laying down the track and maybe even history…

CS: Ah man listen, that came along cause I used to be managed by Violator…I came in thru Violator, you know what I’m sayin…So by being with Violator you know 50’s manager is over there too, so at the time I used to be up there everyday…I’m one of them kids that will sit around all day long til somebody I wanna know hand em a cd…So every time 50 came in, 50 would come in like 3 times a week, he would have a cd of like 10 to 20 joints a week so I was hittin this man off with like 30 to 60 joints weekly or more at times…You know what I mean…So that’s what it was… I got wind that he did a couple of my records and he wanted to sit with me, so he gave me a phone call and was like yo I wanna give you a deal…I was like aiight let’s do something, that’s how it came on…He had did “In My Hood “ first and then “Disco Inferno” came after that…

S1: Alright, alright…Now obviously your not a one trick pony here you also got “Window Shopper” that came out for the movie that he just popped of on, you know what I mean…What’s up with that dawg? You got a interesting catalog going there or what?

CS: Ah man…Listen man…It’s all blessings homie, you what I mean it ain’t nothing to do with me…You know what I’m saying… It’s all blessings, know what I mean…I prayed for it and it happened…
