Dave Ghetto & Tha S Ence Hustle Simmons

Dave Ghetto & Tha S Ence:
HUSTLE SIMMONS
Dave Ghetto has been a fixture on the underground hip hop scene in Philly for the past decade. With a new label situation, a new producer and new album he is getting set to bring hip hop back to the golden era of hip hop music. A time where good beats and lyrics is all you needed to produce a classic album, Hustle Simmons is definitely that type of records. Teaming up with Tha S Ence and some of his artists from Break Bread Projects Dave Ghetto is blazing a trail into the future of hip hop…S1 recently caught up with Dave and this is what he ahd to say:
S1: Yeah, yeah, yeah!!! What’s going on my niggas, you know who this is, this is the motherfucking man S1, Legacy radio, Legacy Magazine, Legacymag.net and listen man you know I only fuck around with the best, know what I’m saying, I don’t fuck around with no bullshit…I got my boy today Dave Ghetto, what’s going on big dawg?
DG: I’m maintaining man I’m focused I got some big things poppin off this year…
S1: I know you got your boy the Tha S Ence, talk to us you got a couple of things poppin off with Break Bread projects…Put us on the level as to what Dave Ghetto getting into?
DG: Well recently my company Break Bread Projects acquired a digital distribution deal where we service all the digital retailers I Tunes, Rhapsody, Hiphopsite.com you name it they should have it, na meen…We jumped off with 84 Ourselves, 84 is group out of Philly, real good fam, we definitely wanted to pull them in once we secured our situation…Other than that June 24th is when Hustle Simmons comes out so that’s a big day for me and my boy That S Ence…
S1: Hustle Simmons that’s the next project that you going to be putting out with your boy Tha S Ence, just talk to us what is it that your trying to deliver?

DG: Well what Hustle Simmons is, is traditional, you know what I mean, it’s drum heavy man, it’s traditional hip hop in a town where everybody’s trying to be a weirdo, you know what I mean…Everybody is doing the non comforming conformist shit, everybody is trying to be so different that the shit that we originated from is really the far left shit now…People want records that, are what they call innovative, but if I’m doing what the next man is doing what makes it so innovative? You know what I mean…So me and Tha S Ence came together and put together a record that’s real representative of the era that we come from without being gated…This is some real boom bap shit! But it don’t sound like we trying to be in 1994, it’s still new millennium shit…
S1: That’s exactly what hip hop needs…How long did it take for you to put this album together?
DG: Well I was working on another Dave Ghetto project and me and Tha S Ence both live in Philly and we are real heavy on the scene here, and we crossed paths and it was a natural progression because we worked on a single together and the production was crazy so pretty much the album evolved from working on that one project with him.
S1: That’s wassup…Okay this question is for Tha S Ence, was it hard to do tracks for Dave? Did you have to dig down deep for your sound to go with his flow?

S Ence: That’s the thing me and Dave both like the same type of music, so like him listening to any of the beats I have like when I hit him off with beats he’d be, I guess like a half hour later when he was driving home he’d hit me up and be like yo I need track #2, then he’d call me back and be like I need 3 too…I’m like yo why don’t you listen to the whole thing and then call me back…But it’s like we just click, you know what I’m sayin…It was easy because Dave’s flow just fits perfectly…
S1: Hustle Simmons…How did you come up with that name? What tracks do you want to highlight?
DG: The name came from how quickly the project moved along , we hustled na meen…Also it comes from the idea that we’re so much more then who we are to the public, you know what I mean…We do so many other things, we wear so many hats and this is just one aspect of it so life is an everyday hustle…It’s more then selling drugs, you know what I mean, it’s about really doing what you gotta do to get what you gotta get to achieve a desired goal…Our desired goal was getting this project done and we did what it took we recorded and mixed, we did everything our selves, the only thing we didn’t do was make cuts…It was a project that we felt strongly about so we put 110% of effort behind it and it came out real dope …
S1: One thing I want to bring up and definitely made known is Dave Ghetto was actually nice enough, we actually have a mix cd it’s a legendary mix cd project that were putting together through Legacy, we don’t have it titled yet but were bringing a lot of the legends, a lot of other heavyweights that we fucked with…Dave Ghetto was one of the first catz that agreed to get down…We just want to shout you out for that! The album Hustle Simmons is already out where can we pick that up at Dave?

DG: Break Bread is doing digital right now and the state of the industry doesn’t warrant for you to press up cd’s because everything is going computerized to digital downloads…We really going strong with the digital movement because that’s where the future is taking us to, so you can find it on I Tunes, Rhapsody, E Music, Mad Starr, hip hop site.com any retailer that has digital download we should be there and if you want a physical copy come out to the show…
S1: Aiight, that’s definitely wassup, that’s the movement…Again Gave Ghetto, Hustle Simmons, he got his boy Tha S Ence, Break Bread Projects …Before we go tell us about Break Bread Projects, I’m intrigued by that name…
DG: Well Break Bread has always been a platform for my peoples to shine, whether they want to utilize it or not, it’s always been a platform for others…I’ve always had situations elsewhere but Break Bread has always been for the fam…It just so happens that right now I’ve invested the opportunity to put out some records on a consistent basis, and it’s my time to really push it to where it needs to be…So we got the Hustle Simmons record, we got Fel Sweetenberg his records is already in stores, 84 Ourselves, Verbatim, Misty from Cali like I said we got digital so I don’t have to worry about overhead like before…We won’t flood the market but we will put out quality shit…
S1: Dave it’s been a pleasure, Tha S Ence thank you giving us the insight to what ya’ll are all about…This is S1 from Legacy, We OUt!
