RACHEL WHITTED:
Super Woman
By CL

What’s poppin Legacy fans, yours truly Here, CL... and I'm pleased to bring you another Exclusive Interview. This time I'm with Rachel Whitted, a talented rising model out of Durham, NC. After sitting back and chatting with Rachel, I can honestly say she is a beautiful person---with the looks to match. With so many females out there trying to make it in the industry, being attractive can only get you so far, so you better have more than one ace up your sleeve. Well Rachel definitely knows how to deal the cards, running a successful family business, training horses, modeling, acting, and the list goes on…..ENJOY!

CL: So Rachel how would you define beautiful?

Rachel: I truly believe everyone is beautiful in their own way. I know this sounds cliché but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As far as attraction, I may be appealing to some people, but not all. That’s why a person must have something deeper inside them than just their looks. Its funny the best compliment I ever received was on a day after I just got done riding my horse. I was looking pretty rough and didn’t feel sexy at all. I stopped at this gas station to get a drink and this guy came up to me and said “you are the most beautiful woman I have ever scene,” he said it very sincerely and it made my day.

CL: Very interesting point, so other than your looks, what do you bring to the table that makes you different from the rest?

Rachel: Well one aspect is that I am multiracial, so I can appeal to more than one crowd. As for the type of work I do, I’m very particular as to what I choose to commit myself to. I’m passionate about the art. I love being around people who are passionate about what they do. I don’t need to take on everything that is thrown my way or always be on the scene, for me it’s not about the money or glamour, but more about the art itself. Plus with my family business, taking care of the farm, riding horses, my plate is full as it is.

CL: well I typically don’t get that answer, that’s pretty respectable.

Rachel: Yea sorry if that was long, I can keep going for a while so feel free to tell me to shut up, lol.

CL: nah it’s cool. So when it’s all said and done, what would you like to say you accomplished?

Rachel: Good question

CL: Thanks I know lol

Rachel: At the end I would like to have become a successful actress. Although I believe modeling is a form of acting. I have a few things coming up that I’m not at liberty to say what, but I’m very excited. So far I have done some acting on TV episodes, One on One and Cut. I feel very comfortable in front of the camera and think I can be good at it.

CL: Aight aight, so growing up in NC, listen to hip hop much?

Rachel: oh yea of course, my brother, who is an independent artist goes by Flawless, was always listening to it, so I grew up around it.

CL: Who was your favorite artist(s) growing up?

Rachel: wow really though, you taking it there! How far back we talking lol…..umm ok Tribe Called Quest, Run DMC, New Edition, Common….I love Common, I’m not ever star struck but when I saw Common in person I had to go up and shake his hand. Who else…Mary J, Boys 2 Men, Janet Jackson, Busta Rhymes, Camp-Lo….oh yea and have to definitely include Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder in my favorites.

CL: ok ok I see you have some depth and good taste. So tell me from then to now, do you like the direction Hip Hop has gone?

Rachel: Well I think, lyrically, the game is not as strong as it used to be. I guess I’m just more drawn to some of the more old school artists or to that past style. Not to say that today’s artists are not amazing, I just love hip hop from that time period.

CL: So you love hip hop, what is it that you love about it?

Rachel: I love hip hop for the same reason I love pin-up artists. I think it tells a story, the work of pin-up artists has a meaning behind it, similar to how hip hop does. Hip hop hits home to many people and there are meanings behind every song. No matter where you grew up or how you grew up, you can relate to it and that’s why I love hip hop.

Well Legacy fans, hoped you enjoyed this exclusive. Still waters definitely run deep in this talented female. Some may make the mistake of saying this beauty is the ideal trophy wife, but Rachel is more than just a nice smile. She is a graduated collegiate athlete, successful business woman, wife, model, and enjoys helping others. Not too many females in this industry like this, and it’s rare to find one so humble yet confident, preferring family and close friends instead of constantly being in the limelight.
